Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Image
This thanksgiving was a bit different compared to all of the Thanksgivings in the past, this year was the first year I celebrated without my family, because our family left town and went in multiple directions this thanksgiving, and Drew celebrated without his sister because she and her husband celebrated the holiday in their first home.... the truest sign of growing up is gaining new family and changes in schedules for holidays... so much so, we've already sorted through the Christmas itenterary!  It probably looks burnt... you've obviously never seen/tasted a smoked turkey The traditional thanksgiving meal was prepared, My dad smoked a 12lb. Turkey with Drew for the three of us... (while at home he smoked 50 lbs. of turkey and roasted 10lbs. of Ham) Here's a demo, which will show you how juicy they are inside :] click he...

And the Drummer from RED as well as the lead singer of Newsong, it was awesome… we met many new families… and a church youth group from Drew’s old city, St. George, Utah. It was phenomenal… We also got to see ...

Springs Preserve... a botanical garden in the desert of Las Vegas, features many events for multiple holidays and occasions, around Christmas last year, I realized I'd never discussed an Altar or Day of the dead with Drew, so I figured i'd Google activities in our city and discover what we could learn!   The Springs Preserve had a  live theater and dance performances, mariachis, face painting, sugar skull decorating and an art exhibition and multiple Altars . When I was in highschool, I had a Spanish teacher who’d taught us of day of the dead… this amazing memorial celebration commonly seen in Mexico and other Hispanic cultures to memorialize those who have passed away. (I’m going to break out some notes circa 2007 and handouts to type this blog, so bear with me… it’ll be very informative and very thorough… I have to explain it in depth so everyone understands the beauty in what it is instead of the breakdown) When I started dating Drew, I’d explained to...
