God, Thank you for Danica Jean Harris… Thank you for bringing her to Tara and Dre when they needed a light in their new family.
Baby Girl, my future Niece:
I pray that you will have the presence of Audrey Hepburn but the purity of Mother Teresa.
I pray that you will have wit that lights up a room with laughter but kindness to know when to hold your tongue (Something Auntie Pri is still working on at 21).
I pray that you will have the strength of Joan of Arc but the grace of Jackie Kennedy.
I pray that you will have the boldness of Katy Perry and the gentleness of Adele.
I pray that you will have great intelligence but greater wisdom that you happily let overshadow your intellect.
I pray that you will have wonderful humor but also gravity to know the vast challenges of your moment in history.
I pray that you will have a strong desire to learn and the steadfastness of mind to ponder the deepest mysteries of God and His universe.
I pray that you will have joy that is infectious and empathy to sit alongside those who mourn.
I pray that you will have patience that challenges rampant selfish consumerism and ambition to tirelessly seek that which truly matters.
I pray that you will have a generous heart that is willing to give your best to someone in need.
I pray that you will have a discerning mind that knows the difference between sympathetic charity and actually helping someone.

I pray that you will have someday [not too soon] a husband who holds you in such great esteem that he cannot imagine living without you and would lay down his own life for you should need ever be.
I pray that you will have character that none can impeach but also humility that knows your faults level you with even the worst of sinners.
I pray that you will follow Jesus with your life and not just with your words, that you will seek to truly know him and not just be satisfied knowing about him.
I pray that when you are unable to live up to all of these prayers, and you will be unable, you know I still love you more everyday and that God still loves you too. 
I pray that you know that no matter what happens here on earth, neither of those things will ever change.
I pray that God’s love and forgiveness and your family’s love for you give you the unmovable foundation you need to rise up from your sins and mistakes and to seek what is good as though it were water in an unending desert.
I pray that you will be a light to the world and that this place will never be the same because you were here.

Your 2nd Birthday

  Bryer boy, Bryer boy. I cannot believe you are two. I will never forget the night I went into labor with you. I went to the hospital around 10 or 11 o’clock at night on the 23rd. I remember thinking, I can’t believe he’s doing this to me. Your dad said you could come any day, and of course, you chose a day that will forever confuse me when it comes to your birthday and your actual birth date. But that’s just like you, full of surprises. And in these last 365 days, you’ve continued to surprise me in the best ways. I’m not shocked one bit. You are everything I didn’t know I needed, and someone I absolutely adore. You are completely obsessed with both of your parents. Audrey? Your eighth birthday

  Audrey Kaydence. Today you are 8 years old. Holy cow kid. You made it to 8. Time goes faster than what I would deem appropriate but all in all you have had quite some LIFE in your years. Let’s recap the last year shall we?  You switched schools in February, which was a challenging decision, but a good one you were at a much smaller school now with a much smaller network of friends and it is healthier for you.  Your blonde hair is still blonde and your eyes are still this gray blue green. They change all the time primarily gray and green sometimes blue and green still very light still very curly. You have more freckles now than you ever have before and I am admiring watching your face with glasses as I know that contacts are coming soon to help with your myopia. You will always be my baby.
