Your Third Birthday
Mama’s Girl, Mama’s Girl… Audrey Kaydence, Mama’s girl.
Happy 3rd Birthday little mama. I am so thankful to be yours, I giggle when you bless the food and say “Dear Jesus, Thank you for my beautiful wife.” You really mean beautiful life, but I too am thankful for your beautiful life so I don’t correct it. Other than your attitude, there aren’t many things I do correct. You are wiser than the majority of your peers and speak clearer than most adults. You potty trained within 3 days two months after your second birthday, I didn’t follow any book and you followed my lead. You learn everything quickly, I’m impressed, but sometimes you grow too fast for me. You sometimes sleep in until we wake you up, and usually we hear you on the monitor screaming "MOMMMMMM, DAAAAAAAD COME GET ME"
You now have frozen bedding, and you sleep with goliath the lion, jack and sally, Pasqual, a llama from lauren, pinkalious from auntie Nicole, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some things haha.
You have many friends, you're the girl everyone wants to play with... Your best friend at school is Regan, Though Paislee is your best friend ever as you say, you also mention Abigail Grace, Scarlett, Harlan, Joey and Sklyer when we ask you to reference friends. Unfortunately with being the know it all comes with thinking you actually do know it all, and at school you’ve gained some friends who I’m less than pleased to report… have penetrated your heart with selfishness at times and your mannerisms become a reflection of theirs. You’ve had some rough times being naughty the last few months, I won’t ever “force” you to be friends with anyone but you will respect everyone. I want your big heart to shine as brightly as your smile and I’d love for you to be known as the kind girl, not the popular mean girl.
You still have blue eyes but they’re almost a steady blueish, greenish, greyish? Still pretty, Hair is as blonde as ever, it’s gotten lighter this year than any year before. Your skin is still white in appearance, you call it yellow, sometimes you call it pink or red.
2 years was a fun year for you, you put your feet in the pacific ocean for the first time this year and LOVED it. You’re pretty solid on trips, you also went on a plane for the first time this year to Atlanta, Georgia to visit your great grandparents. You also rode horses quite a few times this year, this has proven to be your favorite hobby next to dressing up like a princess. You’re the girly-girl I prayed for. We took you to Disneyland and you got to go to the bibbidi-bobbidi boutique and got dolled up like Cinderella, hugged Gaston and met almost all of your favorite princesses.
Your memory blows my mind, You can name every single princess, her animal sidekick, and what movie she came from. You prefer the classics, this year your movies were Beauty and The Beast, Cinderella, and Snow White along with The Nightmare Before Christmas. You will correct people when they say Indian instead of indigenous people when you watch Pocahontas, and you will reference Snow White when you eat red apples.
Speaking of eating, you’ll eat anything we put in front of you, try everything once but go into it elbows deep if you really like it. As hard as we’ve tried to keep you away from them, your two favorite foods are chicken and French fries but you’ll also eat frozen peas and carrots, olives, and salad every day. You saw paramedics this year for the first time during your oral study peanut test, You failed and are very much allergic after two epi-pen’s and one tsp of peanut butter. You’re allergic to tuna, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, and celery. We try to keep red-dye’s away from you but your Uncle Will let you have your first sip of soda at a Golden Knights viewing party when they were in the playoffs for their first time. You LOVED it, and we allowed it. You love watching hockey, Whether it’s the Las Vegas Golden Knights or the Vegas Aces, your uncle Peter’s hockey team, you’ll bang on the glass and yell and cheer regardless how cold and blue your lips get.
You never needed night lights before when we lived in the townhouse but now you need 3-5 to choose from, and your bedtime routine is still very much the same. You’re fully potty trained and sleep in a crib, We’re 100% okay with this. You know the lyrics to plenty of songs and your current favorite is The Middle by Maren Morrris. You remember bible verses, how to spell Blippi, and will proudly tell anyone who asks “My name is Audrey Kaydence Thomas.” You can write the letter A very well, but not the rest of your name. We can’t wait until you can because your autograph will be worth something one day, we can feel it. We love you to the moon and are so thankful God gave us you. Happy Birthday my darling girl.
Your Mama,
Capri
