December - Catch up post

I haven’t blogged all year due to an extremely busy and fast life … so to make this simple I’ll do three updated post, one for each month and then continue with my regularly scheduled blogging.


December – Christmas was awesome! Our families spent it together, as a matter of fact unlike most families who don’t really spend any holidays together until they become one… we started three months after we began dating… and ever since then, we traditionally do all holiday plans as one big group! For 2012 Vickie, Drew’s mom hosted Christmas Brunch at her house… we ate, Invited Drew’s best friend Michael over to join us and then we played a few rounds of Catch Phrase after we opened presents!

Every year drew and I have a few traditions, one of which… we put on our pajamas on Christmas Night… and drive around drinking a warm Starbucks drink… and enjoying the Christmas lights that everyone has on display…  This year… we decided to go check out the glittering lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, it’s something we’d never tried before and we did this BEFORE Christmas… went to Starbucks and drove for miles of lights, which was a good thing…

 which was a good thing…because after opening presents… this.. 




So we had to go look at lights 5 days after Christmas… Drew made sure of it... and since we missed charlie brown on christmas day... we watched it later anyway... but looking for lights left a meek display, BUT we went along with it… it was God’s plan not ours.









Drew's mom made this for me this year for next Christmas... She knows this girl loves pink and zebra print!



Another tradition is, we go to Hallmark and exchange an ornament that we pick out and secretly purchase for one another, and when we decorate the Christmas tree,  we show them to one another! I didn’t take pictures of them this year… but this is what they were….

Eventually, we’ll have a tree COMPLETELY filled with meaningful ornaments that we can share with family and friends each Christmas… This year, he let me decorate HIS tree (since mine is pink) in our wedding colors… we’ve got an affable love of peacocks and it shows!

We also got to go to Abby’s school pageant of the NUTCRACKER to support her, anytime little ones in our lives have a  big presentation of any sort if we’ve got the time, we go.. we even managed to make it to Alana’s Merryhill performance!

Your 2nd Birthday

  Bryer boy, Bryer boy. I cannot believe you are two. I will never forget the night I went into labor with you. I went to the hospital around 10 or 11 o’clock at night on the 23rd. I remember thinking, I can’t believe he’s doing this to me. Your dad said you could come any day, and of course, you chose a day that will forever confuse me when it comes to your birthday and your actual birth date. But that’s just like you, full of surprises. And in these last 365 days, you’ve continued to surprise me in the best ways. I’m not shocked one bit. You are everything I didn’t know I needed, and someone I absolutely adore. You are completely obsessed with both of your parents. Audrey? Your eighth birthday

  Audrey Kaydence. Today you are 8 years old. Holy cow kid. You made it to 8. Time goes faster than what I would deem appropriate but all in all you have had quite some LIFE in your years. Let’s recap the last year shall we?  You switched schools in February, which was a challenging decision, but a good one you were at a much smaller school now with a much smaller network of friends and it is healthier for you.  Your blonde hair is still blonde and your eyes are still this gray blue green. They change all the time primarily gray and green sometimes blue and green still very light still very curly. You have more freckles now than you ever have before and I am admiring watching your face with glasses as I know that contacts are coming soon to help with your myopia. You will always be my baby.
