February - Catch Up Post

Long story short on the ill end of February… I had a small procedure surgery… that changed my life… everything is benign and cancer free. Lived to tell about it; took a month to recover -  thankful for God’s grace in the situation. The end

Drew and I wanted to host an epic Super bowl Party the weekend of my surgery hoping everything went as planned (plans were out of control) so Drew and Vickie hosted about 9 of our close friends at their home while I’d pre-marinated and prepared everything and Drew grilled his heart out and planned everything else… they were the GREATEST of help and I was able to sit on the couch the entire party… it was awesome!

Guac, Salsa, Queso

PLATINUM, Apple Shock Top, & Citrus Sangria

Sandwich Topping Bar

Coookie Dough Dip & Potato Salad

Grilled Cajun Chicken

Sausage, Beer Brats & Peppers!

Drew, you did an amazing job on the grill!!!
A sweet boy was welcomed into this world… we adore the Robinsons… Drew’s Close with Mike… the Dad, I’m close with Abby, the mom… and we ADORE their boys…
I began watching their oldest son before he turned two… and he’s been our Baby Gap Model since… Drew and I feel he’s so gorgeous and so sweet… We’ll prayerfully hope we raise interracial babies as beautiful and hope filled as Micah! Now, God has blessed the Robinsons with another bundle of joy!!!
 Noah Jiro Robinson. February 5, 2013 1:14pm, 7lbs & 19"

I met him the day he was born, this is drew at the hospital with him the day after!

Valentine’s day plans with my sweet love – So to kick off our Valentine’s Day WEEK… because we’re not traditionally subtle about any holiday… we were invited to the Las Vegas PBS Splendor in the Glass Wine and Beer tasting! What an amazing event (thankful for the opportunity, higher ups at work supplied the cost of entry)

We joined my co-worker Alix and her sweet friend Chris.. we found multiple new beverages that we enjoyed at our first tasting… we also learned we are not dry wine drinkers… Fruity and sweet… a few of our favorites were…

The Ruffino Moscato D’ Asti . BEST MOSCATO YOU WILL EVER DRINK
Absolut Tune – A Wine/Vodka mix.. only best served ABSOLUTLEY Cold
Skinny Girl Cucumber – Thanks to Blue Martini… anything with cucumbers and alcohol is phenomenal in my book
Charonge – A lightly orange flavored wine.
And TY-KU Sake – the sake is AMAZING..

THEN two days later… we celebrated Valentine’s day, exchanged gifts… and Went to dinner at The Sugar Factory! It was an awesome day!

Later, in February – My father celebrated 52 years of life… Drew took my family out to dinner and my dad was greeted by a nice tequila surprise at the end of the night… VIVA ZAPATAS!

Dessert was different from our traditional Retro Bakery Cupcakes… this year we opted to try Marie Calendar’s Red Velvet Dream Pie.. and boy oh boy was it delicious!!!

Happy Birthday Padre!!
